I did a search to assure that this wasn't already posted, apologies if I missed a previous post.

Testor End Of An Era.jpg

This has been debunked as FALSE - Rustoleum is headquartered in nearby Vernon Hills, IL and as far as I know they are NOT ending production of Testors products.

If you find it circulating around please ask people to remove the false information.

I hadn't previously seen this notice, but have been wondering whether Rust-oleum was going to continue the Aztek line of airbrushes & their accessories. Aztek, which I have two of, was/is a Testor owned company.

Not a good indicator of the health of the plastic model industry.

I believe that Aztek is now a separate division within Rustolem rather than part of Testors.

The Aztek airbrushes are often found in art supply stores. I have one and IIRC, airbrush artist Jimmy Flintstone uses one.

If you read it carefully and it's been confirmed, Testors is stopping international sales. We're safe (for now) BTW Jimmy currently is using Iwata airbrushes, hasn't used Testors for many years, not since he stopped producing resin kits for them. He's tried others but Iwata's are the only ones that have held up well over the last few years.

I'll second the endorsement of Iwata airbrushes.  I have 2 - a bottom feed and a top feed with a small reservoir.  I bought the latter for use with AlClad metallic lacquers, usually small area application but now use it about 80% of the time.  My models are 1/32 - even a whole cover coat involves only a few seconds to refill and it is much easier to clean.

I'm confused.

Who would make the effort to draft up a fraudulent letter like the above?

A competitor?

Weird.

Where was the letter posted?

When Googled, there is a lot of chit-chat about colors getting discontinued.

Not a good indicator of the health of the plastic model industry.

Looks like you were right, Dave Crevie, on Saturday, about reading it as the end of overseas sales.

While the letter is claimed to have not originated at Testors/Rust-Oleum, the announcement on the FB page, sort of by omission, indicates as such.

Actually, I heard about the end of global distribution before this. Maybe two months ago. The company

that makes the spray cans had a small blurb in their monthly report.
