So much fun was had!
I had mentioned this in another thread of mine, that on Father's Day of this year, my daughter and I went to play with slot cars at Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin, CA.
At that time, I was testing my newly fabricated inline chassis, while my daughter had the chance to drive a couple of my other cars.
She mentioned how much fun she had that day so I mentioned that perhaps her boyfriend might have an interest.
Well, my wife and I, my daughter and her boyfriend (they are in their 30's) took the (over an hour) drive to Fast Track Hobbies early this morning.
I supplied them with their own slot cars and slot car boxes.
It was my daughter's second time to drive slot cars - her boyfriend had never done this before.
Lots of crashes, my daughter replicated my wife's accident where she too, bent an 1/8" axle.
I posted this adventure on my "By accident - angle winder" in the scratchbuilding thread.
Well, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and stated "can't wait to do this again!".
How exciting to expose the younger generation to our hobby and it seems that they are very interested in continuing in the hobby.
I deduced this, when they mentioned they wanted to learn how to trim and paint their own slot car bodies.
My daughter staged this photo and I wanted to share.
That is my Ford GT I painted over 10 years ago - that is in front of the pack.
Thanks for looking.
