Poking around on Ebay this morning and saw a reference to a "Cox chart". Which brought me to making this post. Is there such a list somewhere that shows part numbers for Cox parts and what their application was ? Same for Classic and other popular 1960s brands ? It would be extremely helpful for those of us who end up with various bits from buying lots of stuff.
Cox part number list?

There's a pretty complete Cox catalog that shows up regularly on ebay, so keep an eye out.
Other price lists, etc. are more irregular, and haven't seen any Classic ones in awhile. Don't think Classic ever did a catalog per se.
If you can find the VSRN site, from the old Vintage Slot RAcing Newsletter, he had links to various instruction sheets, and maybe some catalogs. Just had another similar request on SlotForum, so maybe I should start scanning all this when I have time.
There may already be some resources on the Net, have you searched?

Thanks Don. Been searching but no luck so far. I was hoping someone here had a copy they could post. I'll keep looking.

Cheater posted the Champion catalog for 67 or 68 on the blog a year or so ago. You should be able to find that.

Thank you my friend but it had a bid of 10 bucks and ended with "reserve not met" and I don't play those games with reserve auctions. Obviously the seller thinks it's worth more than that and maybe it is. Just not to me. I keep seeing a reference on old threads on here about some website with tons of Cox & other info. This one ? http://vsrnonline.co...amic/index.html Unfortunately that link takes me to some Oriental scribbling that when translated says "not available". Is all of that valuable info lost forever ?

There's still remnants of archived VSRN links, some work - some don't, unfortunately the Cox catalogue didn't for me, but some of the dealer price sheets and car instructions did, also some Classic links worked. I think I have the Cox Catalogue stored in an old computer I'll have to look. The Cox car instructions will identify the parts & part numbers for the specific car... here's Dino for example...

Man that's awesome. I thought that entire file of stuff was gone. I'll be busy for awhile now saving what's there in case it all goes away too. But yeah I see what you mean about the Cox catalog. It's as if someone intentionally went in and deleted most of the important stuff...

Pretty sure EJ's Hobbies still have these in stock. About $12 IIRC. Pretty good reference that I use regularly.

Just got off the phone with Ed. He's been out of them for awhile and the guy selling one on Ebay must want stupid money. People are bidding and it still says reserve not met. The search is still on.

Rotor, Jeff - does that later Cox catalogue you have include the Cox HO cars?
Inquiring minds like to know, as they say...

Nope, none of these catalogs have the HO cars Mike. The "regular" Cox slot catalogs go from about 1965 to 1968; after that I have an undated one for the Super Scale 1/32 line, and then a general 1978 catalog where slot cars are long gone. The HO cars may have had their own catalog, but don't remember seeing one ... nor looking for one come to think of it.

I don't think the HO cars were ever made by the real Cox company. They were something to come out of the Eldon/Leisure Time company after the real Cox company was done.

From what I've come to understand is that the progression is Cox -> Amrak(?) -> Rokar -> Lifelike. Not sure if my understanding is correct.
While not particularly interesting in and of itself, for myself, history is always interesting.
Perhaps this discussion belongs in the HO Vintage Cars forum rather than here...Sorry for the Hijack, Mark!

It's all good. Any info is good info. I'm here to learn all I can after a 50 year absence from slot cars.

Mike, I don't think the original Cox company that we associate with the great old slot cars ever had anything to do with HO cars. Probably was int he 70's when they were offered and by then Cox was sold and was only a name used by another company.
