Greetings, everyone!

Last night my wife saw the trailer for the newly-released "Ford v Ferrari" movie and asked me if I had seen it.

I mentioned that the trailer was shown a couple of times when I was watching TV.

Well today, we had gone up to the track late morning, to play with our slot cars.

As we were driving our cars,  the topic of the Ford vs Ferrari movie came up again, when I suddenly realized that my wife and I were having our own "Ford vs Ferrari" race battle!   LOL

So, she suggested to post photos of the cars.

Just wanted to share our fun we had today!

My wife's car is the Ferrari, mine the Ford GT.

Adam Carolla produced a very good documentary about that subject a couple of years ago.  It's called "the 24 Hour War".  Check it out.

I think your Ford Gt-40 is really a Mirage. A spin-off of the GT-40.

Still a nice car.

I feel that the Project X import of the Betta Ferrari is very nice. And it is RETRO approved.

It is true for 1966 the Ferrari P3 is more correct but I am not sure if anyone offers that body currently. If I remember correctly, the Lancer repops are actually the Daytona car which is quite different appearing.

Hi Paul,

If your wife ever finds out how to sandbag, you are in trouble

It's too late!! LOL

Hi Jeff,

I think your Ford Gt-40 is really a Mirage. A spin-off of the GT-40.   Still a nice car.

I have this habit of calling the GT40/Mirage bodies "GT40".

It seems that at times some people I've had conversations with, are not familiar with the "Mirage" name when mentioned - so I just say GT40.

Though when I purchased this particular body - the name on the card did state "GT40" - but I concur with you in regards to looking more like the Mirage.

Thanks for the compliment Jeff!

Hi Yortuk, Georg!

Who makes those 2 bodies?                 Whats the best 330 P4 and Ford GT40 or Mk 4 out there?

I believe these are from Red Fox, but it has been over 10 years since I painted the bodies - but take a look at the Red Fox Ferrari 300 P4/GT40 bodies - they are nice!

Hi MG!

Thanks for sharing that photo - that is a very nice Ferrari body.

The story with Ford's direct campaigned ended with the US-designed, prototype fabrication, development and manufacture of the Appendix J cars, the Ford J car (excellent Retro wide body from Lancer) and the Mark IV (very, very nice scale proportional re-pop body from Lancer - a Lloyd Ashbury masterpiece!) with nice bodies from JK (widened out to be an approved Retro body) and the Truescale car (very flat and Retro wide but very pretty - with disconcerting NACA ducts on the deck facing "aftwards" that never appeared in any photo of the cars I have seen - and generally pretty hard to get).

Interesting that I was just working on the scratchbuilt chassis that supports the old Lancer re-pop body yesterday, maybe because the movie is coming out very soon!

Keep it in the slot,
