Saw the movie this past Saturday with the wife. Excellent! Regardless of what the nitpickers say about the details I completely enjoyed it. So much that when I got home I started messing around with an old '60s vintage Revell Assymetric chassis, a Cobra body of unknown origin from an eBay purchase and the head off a toy cowboy... Needs some proper wheels though.

I've got an old Ninco oval home set that I've had for years with the two Cobra's that came with it. Brand new, still in the box. Since this movie has come out it's probably gone way up in value. Probably worth close to retail by now.  :laugh2:

The movie is great. Enjoy it for the cars and the entertainment value.

Good deal Joe,I was looking forward to seeing the movie until I saw this review.

Casey's style is over the top but he is a race car guy with a lot of knowledge. So I listened to what he had to say.

Are you saying he got it all wrong?

I didn't watch or listen to that.  Hey, if my wife liked it it can't be bad.  LOL

With all due respect to you my friend, this guy is a complete moron who thinks he knows everything about everything. I've never even been able to watch one of his youtube rants to the end without shutting it off. He speaks as if he's an expert on 1960s road racing but wasn't even born when it was taking place. Yeah there's some stuff in the movie that's there strictly for entertainment value and not historically accurate. That's because it's a movie, not a PBS documentary and their bottom line is to make it good for all age groups and make back the piles of money it took to make the movie. Casey is a loudmouth idiot who makes youtube videos and should just shut up and do whatever it is he does. Here's a way better review that covers most of the points about what the movie is, and isn't. Go see it and then tell us if you liked it or not.   https://slate.com/cu...-ken-miles.html

I've seen many movies that the critics say are great and I found to be lousy and visa versa. Screw the critics, do what Noose said to do.

Going to see it this weekend when my son gets here.  :)

Having said that, the Netflix documentary "The 24 Hour War" is terrific and well worth watching; just great photos, videos and interviews.

I usually like the "making of, behind the scenes" better than the movie. Thanks for sharing.

I went to see the Ford vs Ferrari movie last night with my wife. While it's true that they did take a good bit of dramatic license in the movie I feel that it got across the basics of what took place very well. There were quite a few realistic racing scenes and all in all I found it very enjoyable and I'm glad I went to see it.

Although I'm not a Ford vs. Ferrari historian in any way, my wife and I have attended three LeMans 24 hours races and I can say I feel they portrayed the feel of the actual race pretty well. I mean it rained on us two of the three times we were there so they got that right.

BTW... My wife liked it too, and while she's not a big racing fan she said she thought it portrayed the feel of the race and also told the story in a understandable way.

Bottom line is I'd definitely recommend it.
