January 10-11, 2020, there will be the first test and tune at Washington Slot Car Club in Washington, PA, on their refurbished UK Black.

This is open to everyone and all types of cars from USRA and OCC to Retro and is geared towards flat track so people can get some flat track time in with their ISRA cars before the worlds in Atlantic City, NJ, in 2021.

We are working towards getting a discount motel rate. Track will be open Friday from 5-9 PM and Saturday from 8 AM to ? If some want to stay Sunday, that needs to be arranged beforehand.

Track fees are $15 total. We will all throw in $ for lunch depending on the numbers. It is a club so parts are very limited.

Please contact Rob Voska through Slotblog or wallbasher at Old Weird Herald with any questions.

I saw this track in early October and it is in fabulous shape!

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Where did the track come from?

Any photographs?

Good luck for the future.  :)

PS: The external link does not work.  :(

It is an internal link and it works now. The picture of the track is one I took the day I visited in October.

Ron Culp told me the track came from the late Dan Artman's raceway in Mineral Ridge, OH, the site of the 2002 USRA Div II Nats. I was there and in fact, it is where Jay Guard and I met.

A day I’m sure Jay regrets to this day. LOL.

You're too old for stand-up, Tony...

There were four of us pitted in the narrow end of a room right next to that UK Black: Gugu, Fred Hood, Jay, and me.

That track was originally built for Mike Leach's Fastrax Raceway in Newark, OH, by Chris Dadds. IIRC, the lap length is 113'. In addition to 2002, the 1998 Div. 2 Nats was held on it in Newark.
