We are open and this is our second race this week.

 

Sunday's race was great. We are racing our Boxstock LMP class and we’ve had great results so far.

 

Here are Sunday’s results:

 

1) Simon Duffy - 148 laps (also set lane laps records in blue and purple)

2) Clyde Romero -147

3) Ross Fox - 144 laps (set 2 lane laps records in red and white)

 

 

 

Our new Boxstock LMP class is a throwback to racing in the '60’s. Lots of fun and plenty of action!

 

Come out and race these great cars. They are currently on sale.

Clyde does not look in on the blog that often.

 

As I understand it the rules are JK LMP RTR cars no changes. If anything needs replacing it must be replaced with OEM part. No gear change. No tire change. You can change guide spacers and add weight. 

 

So it is about as box stock as you can get.

Atlanta slot cars had two races on Tues: Indy car and LMP.

 

Indy Car

 

1) Simon Duffy - 167 laps 

2)  Clyde Romero - 166

3)  Ross Fox - 155

 

 

 

LMP

 

LMP Boxstock has really taken off!. We had eight racers and new lane records set by Roy Hogan in all eight lanes.

 

1) Roy Hogan - 166 laps

3)  David Rodgers - 151

 

 

 

 

Pre-painted LMP bodies on sale though the end of the month BTW.

Looks like the start of a good series with the Boxstock class. The starting lineup makes a great-looking field of cars.

And we are thinking about expanding it to the Indy car series as well.

Anyone can win in this class. It's loads of fun.

Rules are simple, run as bought if something needs changed oem parts only. Body can be changed to a self painted exact jk replacement body must
add sponsors decals. Motor replace must be new one bought from ascr and will be marked. Fun class come join in

Clyde speaking of the Indy car class, First off do away with that third party body you are allowing. It looks terrible and is just a step toward making the class another GTP.

It was a good race with a new lane record set on Friday night.

The LMP Boxstock Class has really taken on a life of its own.

 

Results as follows

 

1) Clyde Romero - 151 laps - also set fastest lap in green lane

2) Wade Osborn - 147

3) DJ Strickland - 137

 

 

As a side note, Roy Hogan, who is 83 years old, holds the lane records in this class for 5 lanes!

And Ross Fox, who is I believe 65 holds, the lane record for red!

So age rules!!!

 

DJ is 15 years old and has become a regular racer at our track and is racing in all of the classes

The young blood has returned to the hobby here in Atlanta!

Once again the Boxstock LMP class has had a group of racers show their stuff.

A good time was had by all.

 

 

 

A light kit is now available for the Cars and available for you to see in action

 

Also we have additional bodies for these cars, both painted and clear.

Tuesday race was great we had seven entries in the LMP Boxstock class.

 

1st place goes to Roy Hogan with 162 laps ( he is 83 years old) and he set fastest laps in four lanes!

2nd place goes to David Rodgers with 155 laps he set fastest laps in three lanes as well.

3rd place goes to Clyde Romero with 151 laps.

 

A good showing by Simon Duffy and his sidekick DJ Strickland.

 

A great time was had by all.

So come out and run our fastest-growing class of racing.

Well we had so much going on last night I totally forgot about our Indy car race the same night as our very successful LMP class

 

Here are the results:

 

 

1st place Simon Duffy 170 laps Simon set fastest lap in all 8 lanes in this class!!!

2nd place DJ Strickland 157 laps

3rd place Ross Fox 149 laps ( this racer is 69 years old )

 

 

 

We are considering making this a JK Indy box stock class as well in the future

so stay tuned

 

As you can see Tuesday nights there is a lot going on so bring your cars and come race

Clyde speaking of the Indy car class, First off do away with that third party body you are allowing. It looks terrible and is just a step toward making the class another GTP. 

 

I'm not Clyde but I can pass on what I've heard. All just rumor at this point but They are talking about reverting it back to a box stock class, since most everyone has modified them.

 

To use a car you all ready own,  that would require putting it back to Stock, 10-37 gears, JK .765 tires, stock jk bodies, oem oil lites no adjustable ones, 20 ga or larger wire, no weighted guides, pretty much same rules as current JK, LMP box stock rules with a few exceptions.

 

Or you could buy a new car which they have some available at the track. I don't think they have made a decision on if they are going to do this or not. Im sure Clyde will let everyone know when and if they do.

Atlanta Slot Car Raceway Race Results June 2

 

Box Stock LMP Class

 

Well we had another great race with another new winner our own Mike crushed the field  with his lightening fast LMP AUDI

it was a great race with leads swapping several times but Mike over came the competition and won it!

Hats off mike great job

 

 

1st Mike Coffel 161 laps Mike set fastest lap in 6 LANES last night !

2nd Roy Hogan 159 laps ( this guy is 83 years old !)

3rd David Rodgers 153 laps

 

 

We had one DNF Ross Fox  and "The Kid" DJ Strickland had a minor mechanical but hung in there to the end !!!

 

 

As you can see by the gird there are plenty of players on Tuesday night at our track.

 

Our *BIG* LMP Box Stock race will be on June 27 with the same cars !

Also we are starting a new Box Stock Class with the JK Indy Cars

Here are the results from this Tuesday night Atlanta Slot Car Raceway

 

Box Stock JK LMP Class

 

 

 

 

1st Place Wade Osborne ( fastest lap in lanes RED and Purple)

2nd Place David Rodgers

3rd Place Clyde Romero

 

 

Roy Hogan had a strong showing but DNF due to a pinion failure !

 

Ross was in the hunt with his fast car but had a unknown controller issue which was diagnosed later after the race.  

 

This class of racing has been a lot of fun and we are starting the narrow body INDY class in July
