Fellas,

I was able to score an HO Cox car this past weekend at a show.  I did some research the night before on this very forum and asked around the show and was pointed in the right direction.  The car came without pick-up shoes, springs, or a guide.  Earlier in the show I bought an Amrac car that was pretty much a direct copy of this car for a mere fraction of the price and the parts moved right over.  Now I just need some rear tires.

Pics - don't mind my socks or the dust, holy smokes!:

Looking for more of these beauties.

Thanks Steve!

If I'm not mistaken, '77 or so?

Anyone in the know welcome to talk...Cox HO!

A little bit before 1985, when I left to work for Koford, the famous Jim Russell came in to the hobby distributor I worked for, and sold us the AMRAC line of HO cars.

Are the AMRAC cars a spinoff of the Cox?

If my sources are sound, which I tend to think they are, the progression was Cox -> AMRAC -> ROKAR -> Life-Like

I have that Yellow open cockpit AMRAC car, which is the one I interchanged guide, shoes and springs to the Cox Car.  I'd love to get the other body pictured on the worthpoint link you posted, Mike.  Datsun, or some such?

I have a nice Porsche Cox car already as well.

Also, I'm ok getting pictures posted, but I have a nice video of a Rokar "demonstrator" oval that I purchased and ran some cars on.  Gotta figure out how to get a video on here.

:)

I want the Yellow and Red #7 Datsun body!  ;) ;) ;)

Anyone else know about the year, for Swiss?  There's a couple price guides on eBay for sale but I'm not bidding (and then paying shipping and taxes) on books! :P

What was pretty cool when Jim Russell came in, he was traveling with Maurice Wynn, of Twinn-k.

So I got to meet a few of the greats, of early slot racing.

That is indeed pretty cool, Mike! :)

Can anyone give a definitive answer about the years in question?

Are you looking for more info, than PDL provides, in the below thread, with his post #6?

Aha! It's Steve's question on the years.

I just figured 1977 and later.
