OK guys, this is what I have come up with for Division 2 racing here at Buena Park.

Races will be held every third (3rd) Saturday of the month. Track opens at 8 AM. Practice closes at 10 AM.

Production

Group 12 motors

i. C-can.
ii. PS 4002-12 (ceramic magnets only).

Any flexi style chassis.
Red Fox Audi (USRA legal body).

i. We will add the body ISRA decides for the next 'Worlds' as soon as it is announced.

Interiors not required except at major events and will be announced.

Ball bearings allowed for the axle.
All drivers compete together in an 'all main' format.
Weighted guides allowed.

I understand that getting the correct body might be a problem, so for the first month or two we will allow any similar-looking body. But by March, Debbie should have them or you should have figured out how to get them. And we won’t be terribly strict on this for the first few months.

GT12

Group 12 motors

i. C-can.
ii. PS 4002-12 (ceramic magnets only).

Any steel, cut GT12 approved chassis.

i. Current or old production is allowed.

Stepped-wing LMP style body.

i. Anything we currently allow on Thursday night for the flat track.
ii. I will announce any additions or deletions to the list.

Interiors not required except at major events and will be announced.
Ball bearing allowed for the axle.
Races and awards will be split by driver skill level.

i. Amateur/expert

If your chassis does not have gear guard struts, you may replace them with gear guard struts. All other USRA chassis rules remain in effect.
Weighted guides allowed.

All races

- Will be 3 minutes on, 3 off.
- Lane assignments handled by the computer.
- We can qualify if you want.

We will have a brief discussion on what motors you want to run between the races[/font]

The first race will be Jan. 18, 2020.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I've got production cars and some old GT12s. I'll have to dig them out and get ready to play!! :)

She's real fine, my 409!!!

"Any steel, cut GT12 approved chassis."

Question – approved by whom? Thanks.

If it is listed as a USRA GT12 chassis and not an Open 12 chassis.

Well, it's not in the 2019 rules and that sucks because BSP's are good chassis.

If it's in the ISRA rules, we will take it. Does it meet the general rules for the class? Was it ever in the USRA rulebook and discontinued?

And we will discuss this type of thing as well

This is all about good friends getting together and have good racing and not overcomplicating things.

Bill -

Your comment above leads me to believe that any chassis previously or currently approved by the USRA may be run. Your thoughts??

Mikie

Correct. I am not predisposed to keeping anyone out just because they have an older chassis.

As long as it meets general current rules.

For instance (and I know this has not happened here) a class of cars was allowed to run with raised guide tongues and the rules changed to integral tongues. I would have to ban the raised tongue because this would be a technical advantage.

I will even allow the racer to swap out standard struts to struts that have gear guards. Just keep it to right length.

Russ.

As you and I talked about this the Sanders chassis are not USRA legal because Brain said he hadn't made anything new since 2015 so pull what we had; he was done.

It was allowed in 2018, but Brian didn't renew his USRA membership. This reminds me of the 2018 fiasco with the banning of JK chassis. Some things never change.

Too many pages in USRA rule book... After reading three pages, I fell asleep...

If it was allowed in 2018, I will probably allow it.

Post a pic here and we can make a determination.
