Looking to return after way too long. Used to race Parma Flexi cars in '93. Found a comercial track not far away but would like to build simple home 1/24 track. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Please define simple. What kind of foot print are you able to fill? How many lanes?

We would be happy to help.

There is also a thread with odd tracks.  Look to europe for some cool smaller 3-4-5 lane track layouts.

Both articles are great resources. It may seem overwhelming at first but don't let that discourage you. Don't rush and take time to understand each step in the process. I have built several home tracks over the years and even though I built Electron Raceway after I retired, it took about six months start to finish working only one or two days per week. As Chris Frost says, track design should be the first step. I know that I spent several weeks before I developed a design that I really liked. See the link http://slotblog.net/...pictorial-tour/

Make sure to check visibility from each lane with marshals in place........

One more thing. Before planning decide on the number of lanes and lane spacing. Also, try to develop some objectives. I posted my objectives here - see the link http://slotblog.net/...ectron-raceway/

Even more important, make sure you can marshal it without using grabbers and having to track call it. I hate that.

A rider or a car off in front of the drivers is the only time we have a track call on my track. We've never had a car hit the floor or hit the scenery.

I found it helpful after I settled on my footprint and tentative track layout to transfer my drawing to full size mock-up by putting down copy paper on my base. This allowed me to better visualize driving the planned circuit. Identified several problems that werent obvious on my scale drawing.

Most plastic home set tracks have at least 4 lanes available. Carrera and Scalextric have up to 8 lanes available.

I assume you have an internet connection.   You  might try  googling "4 lane carrera slot car track" and see what images  are there.    You will see what can be built with available  Carrera 1/24 track.

You might want to check out ONO Raceway in London as well. Good bunch of guys and a laid back atmosphere.
