Fellas,

A partial list of the scheduled Jail Door races in New Jersey for 2020. We're expanding the series to a total of six (6) races to be held this year, one every two months. Both Jail Door Grand Prix and Sports cars will be run on the same day.

All efforts have been made to avoid conflicts with other series' posted schedules. We are currently considering adding a third track to the Jail Door Series; if and when we do it will be posted here. Otherwise the six races will be held at the two tracks currently on the schedule.

We are racing under the Jail Door rules currently here on posted HERE on the IRRA® website (note that these are not IRRA® classes)         Mini Brute motors will be eligible in both classes.

Tracks will open at 11 AM. First race will be at 1:30 PM and the second race will start a hal fhour after completion of first race.

Race #1 -  February 29, 2020 at Dom's' Raceway.

Race #2 - April 25, 2020 at The Race Place.

Race #3 - To be determined...

Race #4 - To be determined...

Nice looking fields of cars Pete.!! The NJ/NY crowd must be about the only US group running jail door cars at the moment. Keep up the good work. :)

JK & RGEO boyj had JD motor brackets at on time, but i don't know if they still do. Noose has John Dilworth's F1 bodies, but i don't who currently has JD Can Am bodies. Some of the NY/NJ JD racers should have answers too

Here's the part number for the JK motor bracket, maybe you can find one somewhere: JKC88 / Formally JK-JDMB

PCH Hobbies lists it, but I don;t think their inventory is "real time"

I buy mine from Chicagoland. Lighter and specifically designed for the Falcon-style motors.

Looking forward to the race Dom, especially now that I’ll be racing a cool McLaren instead of the usual Lotus 40, thanks for making the bodies available.

Always a good time at your place!

The car looks good in clear Lou. The M6 has always been one of my favorite bodies, even though I've never owned one. Could post a chassis photo of this car when you have the opportunity? I have a chassis fetish. :laugh2:

Mike, I'm quite familiar with your chassis building. In fact, I have several photos of the one above. It never occurred to be that Lou might be running a chassis build by someone else. I just assumed he might be another builder who I had not come across before. Thanks!

I completely understand, I have the same ailment. I was trying to find the post where I bought this and an F1 chassis from Matt B, he had some good pictures, but I can’t find it so I’ll post a couple of pics when I get home.

I wish Bill! Unfortunately I do not have the skills or the patience to build my own, but it is definitely something I want to spend some time learning in the future. In the meantime I am thankful for the guys willing to build these little jewels so non builders like myself can get in on the fun of racing them.

Sports car chassis

F1 chassis, I believe by the same builder.

Another F1 chassis which unfortunately was built with a slight bend on the axle carrier so the axle wont spin. Im going to attempt to fix it myself, hopefully I dont wreck the thing!

Nice photos Lou. Exactly what I was looking for & I now have them saved on my PC. Thanks. On that second F1, if the motor bracket itself isn't bent, then one, or maybe both, pieces of axle tubing that passes through the bracket is tweeked. Take your axle, gears, & rear tires off, then slide a second axle through both pieces of tube & apply some heat to one side's joint. When it cools, determine if the axle spins freely. As a worst case, both axle tubes might have to be replaced. I'm guessing that at some time, the car took a side shot into the rear which knocked one of the tubes out of alignment.

Lou, you can't get any better service than this! :) Mike is one of those who knows what he has been doing for a long time. I don't believe I've ever had the opportunity to race with him. Continue to have fun with your racing.

Got that right!! I’ve been staring at this thing for a couple of months hesitant to do anything because I don’t want to mess it up further. Even cut a new piece of tubing to replace the bent one, happy that I’ll finally actually be able to turn some laps with it.
