Fellas,
Model Car Science Magazine, FIFTY SIX years ago...the term "TABLE TOP RACING" was the headline. Is it too late to suggest that
"TABLE TOP RACING" be this month's theme ?
Remember, that includes ALL SCALES !!!

sounds good to me.

Hi Pete.....Is this from one of your Model Car and Track mags?......Pretty cool. Aurora had so much trouble with the finicky vibrator cars that hobby shops offered services for them. Hence, the Used Car Lot display. If you could either name here the magazine or allow me to make a copy of that, we can make that thing.......It’s neat...!!!....Steve...

Thank You Pete....Found this issue in Ebay for 9.00 shipped....Going to repop that car lot....Steve

Steve,
Sounds great ! I've got a ton of those old Model Car Science, Car Model, etc. magazines but I've never seen that before !!!
ps: There's a lot of stuff you're going to like in that magazine...

When I was a kid a good number of Slot Car/Model Car magazines were in print, mostly monthly. One of my favorite running articles was a How-To build of a home slot car track called, "PARAMOUNT RANCH".
It was based on an actual raceway in California located appropriately enough on property owned by Paramount Studios where a number of western movies were shot in the day...

Some sports car racing pic from Paramount Ranch...that yellow Mercedes is Chevy powered by the way !
Back in the day the Mercedes would have been referred to as "Special" a home grown conglomeration of parts that fit a certain rulebook and was classified as a racing car.
Several cars in the middle photo are "Specials".

I think the Paramount Ranch track built by Robt Schleicher was taken apart and he moved from that house shortly after finishing the track. That may be wrong, but I think he told someone that a few years ago.
A slotter in Pa, Rich Kazinski did build a nice copy of that track and ran cars on it for many years. I may still be in working order today, but I haven't talked to him for a quite a few year. As far as I know Rich is the only guy that ever built the track as shown in the magazine how to articles.
