Lately a decent turnout is anything in double figures and we just made it with 10 racers!  We ran the usual 2 race format with 5 racers in each race. Enough for a race director and turn marshalls and F1 was the first race......

                               1)            Bryan Warmack                     302 Laps

                               2)            Dale Yamashita                      299

                              10)           Peter LaBarba                        230

Bryan and Dale reversed positions from F1 and ran to 1st and 2nd but 3rd was a battle between Tore, Jim, Mill and Bill with Tore just nipping Jim at the end!  Tore is coming to grips with the arthritis and shaking off a little rust and had a very solid run to the last podium spot!   Great drive by Doug Jacks to his best Flat track lap total!

    Richie,

Thanks and OMG!   I'm sure many have forgotten or never even knew, a decade ago Richie Austin was supplying many West Coast racers with chassis that won several big events in Retro Can Am races across the country.

   P1200465.JPG

This is a chassis that Howie Ursaner used to win, I believe, the Sano Can Am in 2010 and 2011. Dated 5/2010. It was being called "The Austin Car".  I believe Jonathon Forsyth also won several big races at BPR with a similar chassis and Jason Holmes finished 3rd at a Checkpoint Cup Coupe race with an anglewinder version.  Many were floating around and in the hands of BPR racers at the time.

And then, until yesterday, Richie Austin just disappeared!........... :shok:

We had a local racer named Richie Austin who disappeared from racing about the same time. I wondered where they went, or if they went together. The local Richie hasn't resurfaced here. I heard he was into bikes.
