Commercial Slot Car Race Track

Tim, is that the same four-lane track Monty Ohren built for 1/32 racing at B.P. Raceway about 10-12 years ago? The track I'm talking about only stayed at the raceway for a short time. IIRC, it had a paint/sand running surface and the yellow sidewalls.

Not sure who built it. It looks like the track I last saw at Bob Wright Raceway in Santa Clarita before it closed down. I verified it includes the laptop and Trackmate system.

Is Bob's track still open in Palmdale?

I thought this is the track that Monty Ohren and Greg Gilbert built? Greg was the manager of Uncle Kal's raceway that was in the basement of a wine store that had a Hillclimb and a flat track that looked like this one.

One of our members called about it last night - it's a 1/32 scale track. Short side is 12' wide.

Greg Gilbert has a 4-lane track at his AL home with a similar layout to this one. iIRC Gerding built it. The yellow flat track at Uncle Kal's was 8-lanes. I had heard/read that Monty built that one.

Bill:
I think you are right about the Uncle Kal's track being 8 lanes. I only ran on it a few times and that was a good 20+ years ago, so much for my memory. I do know for sure that it was Monty and Greg that built the Uncle Kal's track. Hey, one out of two isn't so bad for an old guy! You are right for sure about Gerding building the track at Greg's house in Alabama.

Nope, that track was designed by my good friend and racing buddy Fred Hood. BTW... Fred and I (with a few others) were the charter members of the club that started and ran the Fresno HobbyTown USA track..

The track that Monty and Greg built was called the Corkscrew (I always maintained it should have been named the Quarkscrew).
This track is now at Mo-Town raceway, Modesto, CA.
You can use the track listing section of this forum to find it. And there is a picture of it on the page that comes up
