The track opens at 8 AM, the first race starts at 10 AM sharp!!

The JK Indy Hawk 7 motor followed by the Go-kart with Hawk motor then our fast class the GTP, with any non-wing body, any unaltered flexi chassis, Hawk or Phoenix motor.

In order to slow down the JK Indy cars, we will be going to a slightly slower motor starting April 4. These motors have about the same speed at the old Mini Brute motors we used in the past. These are ball bearing motors and will sell for $5 each. You can pick one up at the March race.

For directions to the trac,k PM me here.

This needs to be corrected. A "JK Hawk" motor is a completely different animal than what we race at The Dungeon.

This is a JK Hawk:

This is a JK Hawk 7:

So is it a Hawk, or Hawk 7?

I need to know!

I guess I do too! If we are racing Hawks in Go-karts and GTP, I need to order 2 new motors and install them

Billy, just a curiosity question. What are these ball bearing motors you'll be selling for $5? I've read that B52 of Brazil  had a BB motor selling for over $10-$12, but I hadn't heard there were cheaper BB motors too.

This a picture of the motors we will be useing in the JK Indy car in April, I am selling the motors for the price I had to pay, no mark up like a commercial track would have to.  You can see the bearing on the gear end but the brush end is sealed, also the motor is longer then the hawk-7  the speeds are similar to the old JK mini brute. I have put about two hours on the 2 test motors I first bought with good results.

I only bought 20 motors to try , and if they work out I will buy more so our racers can have extra motors.

Those look good! They appear to be 180 mm long rather than the usual 150 mm of some FK cans, such as JK's Hawk 7. They should be good motors for your planned use. Have fun racing them. :)

John Clow and I are coming March 7, and Jeff Chambers (Rotorranch) from Atlanta may be there. I know he is building a JK Cup Indy car because I've had him under drone surveillance for weeks now    This guy is a well known slot car veteran, not a newbie  :shok:

Since this will be the last time we run the JK Indy cars with fast motors, I may as well share my anti-launch secret - a 7 gram weight dead center on top of the center section of the chassis. It's been there forever but it's hard to see with the body on  :D

I should probably bring food again, what do y'all want? Crock Pot hot smoked sausages and sauerkraut on buns, or Crock Pot Chicken Fajitas?

I knew Billy would find a way to get your secret Pablo. Now he can put the motor back in Minnie's toothbrush and we all know now. :mosking: :mosking:

Just to get y'all salivating, here is the recipe I'll be using Saturday

Mississippi Chicken

15 minutes active; 3-4 hours inactive to prepare serves 6-8.

INGREDIENTS
3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 (1 oz.) package au jus gravy mix
1 (1 oz.) package dry ranch dressing mix
1/2 (16 oz.) jar pepperoncini peppers or hot banana peppers, drained
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

PREPARATION
Place chicken breasts in slow cooker and season generously with salt and pepper.
Sprinkle au jus mix and dry ranch mix over the chicken, then top with pepperoncini peppers.
Place butter on the chicken, then cover slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4.
Once cooked, use two forks to shred chicken, then serve hot and enjoy!

Recipe adapted from The Country Cook by 12Tomatoes.

Race report according to Pablo:

-Lunch was well-received; everybody loved the chicken breasts. I wish I had brought a microwave to melt the cheese on the tortillas. Next time.

-Minnie's yellow cake with chocolate frosting was killer

-Everybody had fun bench racing, laughing at the bad crashes, and messing with each other for fun

-We tore some stuff up and Ms. Shirley had parts on sale to repair them

-Long time slot car cool guy Jeff Chambers (Rotorranch here on Slotblog) showed up 10 minutes before the start of GTP, slapped his car on a track he's never run on, and did very respectfully all things considered. I hope he had fun and I hope he keeps coming back  :D

-Billy's plan for "tamer" motors in the JK Indy open wheel class, in my opinion, is a smart decision on his part.

-We were having so much fun, I don't remember the exact race results. I do remember winning the Go-kart class  :diablo:  Everything else was a blur for me. That's all I got  :music:
