Foster's, where I race on Thursday Nights has a 1/8 mile drag strip and it's just been redone. A friend of mine, John Parker, is building a new drag car for that track to be added to his other cars. John's artistic vision for this car is a variation of the the Little Red Wagon, which everyone is familiar with. The idea was to have a slammed version done in metalflake lime green. When done, it will be sitting as low as it can possibly sit, and in my opinion will be really cool.
John asked me to paint the body and he also asked Earl McCutcheon to do the detailing to put it over the top. I could never do what Earl does. Those of you who race retro at BPR should be very familiar with Earl's work. He usually wins the concours at BPR when he enters and I believe he's won concours at the USRA Nats as well. For the record, you won't find a nicer guy than Earl.
The first two pics show the body after I painted it and before I handed it off to Earl. I used Parma Key Lime Pearl.
The remaining pics are after Earl worked his magic. He put it over the top. It has yet to be trimmed and mounted on the car John is building. I'll post photos of the completed car later, when it is done.
