The Gas Man lets it rip again with a sweep in all three events.

What can you say, Danny Zona is one tough customer and beating him on his home track is a task few have had the privilege of achieving. A decent field showed up with the new guys who never raced on the track before getting up to speed pretty quick. Any reservations of running on a 4 laner were quickly forgotten.

CanAm was up first followed by GTC and then Stock Cars on the oval. IN GRRR we qualify for the CanAm class and use your finish in the race to determine your starting position for the other 2 classes.

This was another good day of racing for the GRRR group and thanks to track owner Greg Walker for providing us with a great track to race on and Phil for his outstanding race directing. The road course is challenging but once you get use to it it does have a good rhythm and is a lot of fun, definitely not just a punch and grab layout.

The quad-oval, which is designed to emulate Charlotte Motor Speedway, is really something different from your usual tri-oval layout. You really have to time your entry into the two quad-oval turns which are quite close together but definitely two separate turns, quite a challenge. Danny Zona and I had a super fender-to-fender battle in this one and even though he did beat me by four laps (about 10 seconds out of 24 minutes) it was pretty close throughout the race. I think this is the first time ever that at the end of the race Danny actually had ask "Did I win?" and I took that as quite a compliment. Of course I've got to give a lot of credit to my Bobby Robinson built Stock Car chassis which seems to work great at every track.

And finally, "Thanks!" to Tony P for setting up the GRRR schedule and putting out the race reports.
