Well I screwed up, Eds race on the 28th is on my 70th birthday and I know Debbie made plans me I can’t skip. A little bird spilled the beans, lol. I’ll see you guys in Melbourne.

I need some one I can sent the entry form to so they can print up a few.

Ed, sorry I have to miss it, I built an F1 just for the oval. I’ll collect the GRRR $$ next time I see you.

It looks like a couple races up north cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns. I'm going to play it by ear on making it to Ed's GRRR race...if I go though I did build a few cars in preparation of a weekend sweep.

Did any of the GRR racers ever talk with the guy in avon park about a race there?

It’s the same scenario as last time you asked. There is no one from there that races retro. We would have to bring all the racers. No one has yet had a chance to travel there yet to see if the cars run good on the track and if there is enough pit area with chairs etc. lots of old retro racers. Lol.

A couple of guys were going to make a trip down there but it has not happened yet.

I have been there a few times. Retro cars do well on the track. There is in no way enough room for our boxes unless you turn them 90* from the way we sit in front of the box. There are no chairs either. Half the pit area does conflict with the drivers panel. The track is a fun track to run however. There are enough pits for about 5-6 people crammed together.

Update.

I spoke to Eddie yesterday. We will make a decision on postponing the race on the 28th to a later date, by next weekend. We got a lot of old guys we have to think about.

I'm not sure where Coronavirus ranks on the biological hazard scale, but I can't imagine it could hurt anybody that has survived getting caught in the crossfire between DZ and Donny.

We have to watch out for the older generation. My dad doesn't want to take a chance so he will not be attending the race, i will probably follow pursuit. 

Id hate to miss this race though since it is my home track.

Drivers, please chime in if you want to race or we simply reschedule it for later in the year. We can do 2 races a month for the couple we may have to reschedule.

When I spoke with Eddie yesterday he kind of wanted to wait till Monday to make an announcement, but if enough chime in now we can move the decision up sooner.

Unfortunately I will not be going to this race.  Between my 65+ age and always having a problem with colds which seem to go instantly to my lungs it just makes sense for me to wait until the virus issue clears up a bit.  Certainly we can reschedule for later this year.

I have come to the decision it is in the best interest of those I serve at Tampa General Hospital that I limit my contact with the general population as much as possible to decrease my level of exposure risk to help ensure my own health so that I can continue to perform my duties at the hospital. Unfortunately and regretfully that includes the GRRR races at Fast Ed’s… crap… I had already scheduled that weekend off from work so that I could be there, but instead will use that time to get what will probably be a little much needed R&R…

As much as I hate to say this,,, I think its better to reschedule. Just because I think my health can withstand this virus. I can pass it to someone that cant.
