Kit:

Is this new or just in good working order?

It occurred to me that one could fashion a variable choke from these big ceramic low ohm resisters. 4 ohms is too high to be fully useful but, isn't there a 2 ohm or a 1 ohm?

If I remember correctly Parma made the wet wound resistors in 2, 3, and 4 ohm. Not sure if they made a 1 ohm. I think the idea was they were stronger and less prone to cracking when dropped.

I have a 2 ohm wet wound, I got in a box sell-out.

It seems smoother than a normal Parma.

A side benefit is it won't shed it's pink ceramic, like an old standard resistor controller.

One of the annoyances, that occur, when racers bring in their old equipment to run.

The pink ceramic dust all over the control panel, along with the smell of Zip Grip, and an old rotting bottle of Glidex.

These were considered a upgraded controller, had the wet wound resistor that are more durable and smoother, heat sinks, and better wires.

I think the triple barrel I had was 1 ohm, wound with three round wires afair.

they made 1 ohm. I have it in a pro turbo I have had since 1985. I believe they made smaller, but my .8 ohm parma is not wet wound (and yellow, before they were orange, before they were pink).

It won't make a real good choke, as these resistors are only 35 watts.
