I'm pretty reluctant to post build threads, as so many of my projects get delayed or sidetracked.  I've got a pretty good handle on this one though, so here goes:

I had a bunch of motors that just needed some painting and assembling:

The first four motors are "stock".  The motor on the far right, however, had to be assembled from parts.

This can is a Dart can, repainted from it's yucky yellow to a nice Ford blue (I'm a Ford man anyways, so . . .)  It came pre-modded with the axle cut-out on both sides and the bushing shaved.  After I assembled it, I decided to build a car.

Chassis is pretty much jigged up now.

This center section was originally endbell drive.  I heated up the axle uprights and re-bent them to get a can drive configuration.

I'm hoping to get to the pans and drop arm this weekend.

Nice job Mike! Do you have a particular body planned to use with this chassis?

First, thanks everybody for all the positive comments.

Nice job Mike! Do you have a particular body planned to use with this chassis?

I do, and it's all painted.  So with the motor and body complete, it's just a little bit of assembly for me.

Well, this isn't the most exciting update, but I did get my pans and drop arm done, which was the goal of the weekend:

chassis 3.jpg

So hopefully, final chassis assembly this week.

Ok, so I completed this chassis over the weekend.

I think it looks really bitchin from the bottom:

I think it's ready for assembly this weekend.

This car would have been right at home at Ron Granlee's Speed & Sport, with a seven tooth pinion it would even run in an open main on an American Orange. Very good looking build.

I went back and forth with full helmet v half helmet.  I ultimately went with a half, using a Cox driver.

I had to build a little platform for him inside the car.
