Guys, please take this covid virus serious, one of my nephews in laws (Father in Law age 51) passed away last week from covid while his wife was on a machine so at the time she did not know he had passed. My wife is a retired nurse so she has kept us under strict quarantine along with my having essentials delivered. My middle daughter has made probably thousands of masks for local hospitals and the Navajo Nation where she has some crafting friends.

this thing will kill you so please be safe, I'd like to race you guys someday.

Hadn't heard anything about racing again at BPR until this thread. I'll wait a bit longer. Hopefully, the Summer Classic will be doable?
I'll wait for further info here. Thanks Dan.

Unless the impact stats on this bug go horribly wrong,  the WC should go forward.  Its summer, its hot, the bug should be contained.

The test is how things look after this weekend.
People are out and about for the holiday weekend.
In a couple of weeks we should find out how things are.

Jesse,

Sorry for your extended families loss.

Were they in good health or did they have underlying health problems. If you don't know or don't want to answer I understand.

You and your family stay safe,

GVP.

I think they're doing the 1/32 toothbrush motor races too.

Greg, the odd thing is the deceased was in excellent health. My nephew was a Navy Corpsman that was on duty with US Marines in Afghanistan also in great health but he too is positive, in fact the entire extended side is positive and they have self isolated. I looked at the father in law's facebook page and he looked great two weeks before passing.

this is why I'm urging everyone on the blog to treat this virus seriously, we can't afford to lose any slot car racers even the squirrels contribute something to the hobby. If nothing more than to serve as horrible examples.

between my wife being former medical professional and my natural protective instincts we do the best we can and respect the heck out of this virus's ability to kill.

I'm sorry for your loss and I'll keep your family in my prayers.  I'm personally still laying low for a while longer.  My post was meant to be informational and i wasn't trying to encourage anyone to go.  That's a decision each one of us will have to make in our own time.  Take care.
