Type in "Cox chassis cleaning" in the Slotblog search engine and click the green button.

I have been doing this a lot lately.  This is my preferred methods.

I first put the chassis in the tumbler for a couple of hours. If there are any corners that the media has missed I blast with soda.

Wheels only get the soda blasting. Its does not change the surface in any way it only removes the corrosion.

Then I use a grey primer followed by a gun metal silver paint.

This next step is something I was playing with. I take a soft brush and a pinkish ink and lightly dry brush in random spots on the chassis.

Then last step is a flat clear. Done.

Took the pics in different lighting so you get an idea of the color. Hard to capture.

Martin,

What medium are you using in your tumbler? Wet or dry?

Wet, its a ceramic cone for the most part and a mixture of other shapes.

I got the tumbler second hand an it came with the media. I cover media with tap water and add a cap of laundry soap I have on hand.
