Hopefully a few of you other guys will add to this post. I will start it off with pictures of a couple display cases with some Cox cars in them.

Any follow-ups can be pix of a certain cars or shelves. It might be a good thread to share pix of some of our old cars.

Jeff, I've probably had and sold 2-3 times what I still have.      Some of the 66 Fords are AMT bodies I have converted with resin parts.

Here are a couple from my display cabinets, which have been reshuffled a bit since... I have one in my home office with mostly serious 1/24 and 1/32 cars, and one big one in our frontroom with a wide selection, in all scales, from toy slot cars to dragsters and a shelf of statics and diecasts...

Very cool, Matt and Don.

Don, I see my MRRC Mercedes W154 bodied 4WD scratchbuilt in your display case. I'm glad you have it.   :)

This is a display case I made a while back to transport cars to vintage events. It folds like a suitcase, then the idea was it be hung on the wall once back home.

Very nice, Martin. I know your attention t detail and it shows on the quality of the builds and restorations you've done. I admit that I have cars on the shelf that need more work, they are not all 100%er's.

Thanks, Rick - it makes a nice pair with my original MRRC. Hmm, the Bordo theme in December this year (we moved back the vintage meeting from the usual June date) is Open Wheels... do I dare?

Don

PS: Martin, that's a great idea for the combo suitcase/wall display, and it looks very well done!

Thanks, Don. Yes it is made from marine multi-ply.

Cannot get a in-focus shot of my vertical display case. But you get the idea.

This is what I started out with after my retirement move:

display cabinets (8).jpg

99% are scratchbuilt cars. I store them in acrylic mirrored back display cases:

display cabinets (5).jpg

The cases are up out of the way, don't take up much space and are easy to get into:

display cabinets (6).jpg

I've got 3 cases:

display cabinets (1).jpg

These are all seven-year old pictures. I sold off half of these cars but I keep adding more as I can't stop building!  :wacko2:  :D

Rick, that's a lot of pretty cars.

Those display cases are great, but they are costly. I bought two 20 years ago or more. One was new from the company and I bought one used when a local diecast place went out of business. I got two at the local track when some guy came in to sell his model collection. About three years ago a local guy passed that had a big diecast collection. His wife gave all of the guy's collection to a friend. The friend didn't want the cases and I bought 6 more for $15 each. I was lucky!!!

These come from my long time buddy Terry Reeves in OZ. He packed everything up and leased his house for six months. He's in the process of moving back in and setting up his displays again. So far he has two cases set back up. He has lots of good American stuff, but being down under he also has lots of Japanese stuff. Notice the Hasegawa Caddy on one of the cases. I'll bug him for some closeups when he gets settled.

I saved your pic Paul, rotated it so we can view these great looking cars.

Nice collection.

I do not recognize the white #12 car. Can you tell me a little more about it.

Just stumbled on you post with the Tamiya Prince front and center.
