So I picked up a Bugatti 251 and Bugatti Type 32 "Tank" resin body kits from France off eBay.  They were cheap, like $8.43 each, $10 shipping.  Took a month but they came in.  Joe from NJ Nostalgia hooked me up with a Lionel Chassis that would fit the 251 with some work, so I handed the project over my club mate Carl from NJ Slot Car Nerds.  He ground the body to fit the chassis, made his own body mounting posts and painted the car until 2am and here is how the 251 came out, looks great!

I have a Marx chassis on the way from another eBay find and we will try to build the "Tank" soon.

In regards to the 251, the arm in the Lionel motor was toast.  Tested, tinkered, 2am it hit me!  I had a bunch of Tyco 440x2 chassis laying around as I picked up a few, the guy who sold the resin bodies said those chassis would fit, but meh, no, $20 no big deal...I took the arm out of one and put it in the Lionel and the sucker MOVES!  Car is FAST on our club tracks.

Will post here once the "Tank" is complete.

Mike

And the 251 was a sidewinder, just like the slot car.

The "Tank" runs really well on Ernie's two-lane Aurora layout!  I didn't win any championships with her last night but was a blast to drive!

The 251 died somehow so I went up to Nostalgia today and picked up two Lionel cars as a doner chassis.  Good prices!  I swapped chassis on the 251 with one of those.  We'll see how she runs next time.

Hey Phil!

Yep that's her.  Not sure if it's a handle to lift the "trunk" or a crank-shaft but we saw it in all the pictures so Carl added it at the end.
