Be safe and have fun.   We started racing again last week.  I've asked each guy to wear a mask and we are trying to keep reasonable distance for slot racing.   I do have alternate controller stations spaced around the track so nobody is standing next to another guy.

After some months, the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club reconvened July 2 at The RACE PLACE in Farmingdale NJ.  Several members as well as some guests joined in to help get the club "back on track"..

Several "new/old" cars made their debut, some 1/24 scale and some HO cars as well.  I'll start with photos of Rodney's two recent builds both based on the tried and true DYNAMIC Chassis that we're all familiar with.

My favorite of Rodney's cars is the A.C. Cobra, powered by an old time 16D set-up inline fashion on a Dynamic frame, with the coil spring rear suspension. The car is a real looker and in my estimation captures the spirit if the club 110 % !!!

Next up we'll look at another build by Rodney, a '64 or '65 FORD Falcon built Late Model Sportsman style. Again the car is built on a Dynamic chassis but this time it's powered by a 36D known in slot car jargon as a HEMI...I can't tell the HEMI's apart so that question will have to be answered by others. The car as the Cobra, is set up inline style with new PRO TRACK rubber on the corners.

Rodney's Jail Door EAGLE also came out to stretch it's wings a bit...check out the Eagle's cockpit !!!

We also had some of Mikey's ever multiplying HO car collection in house yesterday. Although we have no means of putting the HO cars through their paces we welcome them nonetheless.

Among the many T-Jets are some resin bodied racers as well. Mikey had two Bugatti cars to show the group and they were quite impressive, especially to those who have a soft spot in their hearts for the old GP cars.  We'll let the pics speak for themselves...

Who makes the Ford Falcon body? I want a couple!!!

It's a 1964 Falcon, BTW... or at least has a '64 grille.

Glad you guys could get back together.   The Cobra and Falcon are probably great runners.   The old Dynamic stuff is actually pretty good, especially if you add a belly pan to them.     Everybody be safe.

Gentlemen,

It was good to see you after the COVID Hiatus, I am happy everyone is doing well and are healthy.  It was too long...

Thanks for the shots of the HO fleet, Pete!

Rodney's cars look even better in person.  Really cool.  Glad you picked up a couple bodies, Jeff.

Will see you guys next month.  Sorry forgot to send out the invite to Ernie's garage meet we had last night, let me know if you would be interested in coming to the next HO Slot Car Nerds meeting/race, even if you would just like to hang out and meet the guys.  The guys were looking to meet again in 3 to 4 weeks.

All the best,

Mikey

It’s a long story, but as Kevin Costner told James Earl Jones in “ Field of Dreams”, it’s a really good story.....

Hi Pete,

I think you saw the 32 Ford Pickups on FaceBook.  In HO scale.  Those are finished, but need to be track tested.

The Bugatti 251 and Tank are complete as shown in the Vintage HO Forum here.  Next up will be a Ferrari-Lancia D50 and a Ferrari 250 SWB.
