"I am sorry to say that we lost a great friend today in Henry Trujillo , the father of racer Duran. Be safe my friend and in peace. Loved having you as a friend, and will always cherish knowing you."

Please contribute any photos or memories that you may have of Henry.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

Henry was a gentle soul, always a pleasure to talk to when I saw him at the track.  Henry was a skilled racer in his own right but took special joy in watching his son Duran compete at the highest level of the slot car world.    Henry also took pleasure introducing his grandson Lucas to the sport, teaching him the value of teamwork  We will all miss him very much.

I enjoyed many talks with Henry, watching as he silently beamed at Duran's many wins. He was a great example of that family involvement and support that is mostly missing in our little slot car world.

RIP.

So sorry to hear this. Henry frequently accompanied Duran when he raced in the Southeast some years ago and I spent a lot of time talking with him. Super nice guy and not a bad racer at all.

My sincere condolences to Duran and the rest of the Trujillo family.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Henry was a good racer and supported his son Duran at many races held at BPR over many years. I always enjoyed talking with Henry as we "older" racers continued to enjoy our hobby.

He will be missed. RIP, Henry.

Here's a podium photo of Henry along with fellow racers Mill Conroy and Paul Sterrett. This was the 2010 second Annual Chris Gallegos D3 Western States at Buena Park Raceway, Can-Am race on the King track.
