Race #7 Results...

On the first day of Spring here in Indiana, it was a nice, sunny Saturday race day that drew 18 racers to Tmac's HO racing complex. The racing was fun, fast and very, very close. First up was SS on the Riverside road course bullring. In the qualifying heats, it was super close among the top 4 with Tmac leading the way by sections over Dwayne, followed by Phil and Rich 1 lap back. In the SS main, Tmac lead the way again to take the win and set a new track record by 5 laps! In IN Brass Jet on the Cobra road course, Rich May lead the way in both the qualifying heats and race. Check out the results:

Our annual visit to Merrell Todd's country estate is just 2 weeks from today! He's been hard at work on updating and upgrading the track with new and re-positioned driver stations for better sight lines, new neon pink light bridge, beautiful wood trim around the entire track and, best of all, he's leveled the seam between the two sections to prove a smooth, flat racing surface.

Race #8 results...

After all the upgrades and updates to Jordan Raceway by current track owner/caretaker, Merrell Todd, the track lived up to its reputation for surprises, elation and frustration for the majority of the 14 racers that made the trek to Merrell's country estate. With all the work done to prepare for this race, Merrell was too tired and sore to partake in the racing. After the 2 one-hour practice sessions, one hour for each class, everyone dove into the very tasty chili and all the fixings Merrell had prepared, not to mention chips, crackers, cookies and soft drinks. With everyone fully fueled, the racing action got underway with Super Stock. The 1-minute heats saw Fred Williams take the top spot, which I believe is his first IN HOPRA Series TQ in SS. He was followed by Dwayne Norris, Sam Lewis and Phil Walleck. In the 4-minute mains, Fast Phil, racing a borrowed Fusion, set the pace to take the win with Dwayne and Fred rounding out the podium.

Next up was IN Brass Jet with rapid Rich May taking the sweep, TQ and win!  Tmac took 2nd place and Fred made his second podium of the day in 3rd place.

Thanks to everyone who made the race and a special thanks to Merrell for all his efforts with the track preparation, being our track director for the day and the great food and drinks!

There's only 1 race left in the season and that will take place at Fast Phil's in just a few weeks. A large crowd is expected since his tricky Wizz track will be the Pro SS track at this year's HOPRA National Championships in June. Several tight points races will be settled at this event too. We'll be handing out award plaques to the Top 10 in both classes as well as Overall. Don't miss it!

Less than 2 weeks 'til our last race of the season!

We'll finish off the 2020-2021 IN HOPRA Series season at Fast Phil's Little Rascals Raceway in just less than 2 weeks. Good thing there's a good amount of pit space since this event will likely draw more racers seeking to get a better handle on this fast and technical Wizz track in advance of the upcoming Nats.

Just 2 weeks from today!  The last race of season! And the last chance to get some laps on this track before the HOPRA National Championships - it's going to be the Pro SS track.

We wrapped up a very fun and competitive season with Race #9 at Phil Walleck's Little Rascals Raceway yesterday. It not only served as the last race of our season, but also as a warm-up for the upcoming HOPRA National Championships as Phil's Wizz track will be the Pro SS track at the event.

While not quite the expected attendance, everyone that did make this re-scheduled date (thanks to COVID) got some good track time on this tough, challenging layout. Also, everyone was treated to some fantastic food (brats, cheeseburgers, roast turkey, sides, chips, donuts, banana nut cake and more) and a variety of cold drinks proved by Phil, his wife and family. Huge thanks to the entire Walleck family!

While the absent Tony McWilliams had first place in both classes and overall wrapped up after Race 8 (congrats Tmac!), there were many possible moves up and down the standings for the other racers. Rich May and Phil were the favorites for obvious reasons, but the racing was still fast and furious by all the other racers, including a couple OH racers, Dave Craddock and Ryan Peoples. Here are the results:

To everyone who participated in the racing this season and to all the track owners to hosted the races -- THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone going to the HOPRA Nats - just 2 weeks away!

Stay safe, race on!
