Who cares?
It's a junk car.
Regardless, I see cars, at my raceway, all the time where the motor hangs below the chassis.
Some of them, by very experienced racers.
If the tires are big enough, I don't make an issue of it.

This must be a typo, but wait the shipping is free so there is some value here. It always amuses me when the pot has no problem calling the kettle black.

I wasn't so shocked on this one: BIN is only about 5 times the value - when it gets to be 10x, then that gets my attention. Seems this seller has a rather inflated idea of values - and the "custombuild" moniker is rather ironic.

Go easy guys, he is a good guy. Sure his auctions are over priced, he would admit that.
A little back story. I did buy a Unique car from him (Tommy) some time ago for its wheels. When it arrived one of the wheels was damaged. When I messaged him and I explained, he sent me a replacement wheel and a set of wheels that were correct for my project. As he explained the car I had bought had the wrong wheels for my cover car project anyway. He did not have to do that.
We have been in touch ever since. He is very knowledgeable about slots. I learn from him and all you guys and share a passion for this great hobby. But without the friendships gained it is meaningless.
He does amazing custom work that he has shared with me.
So I am mentioning this as we should try to be inclusive as you never now who is behind the auction curtain.
I am glad to have met Tommy, I think you guys would too.

Thanks for the backstory Martin, good to hear the other side.
I've met a lot of nice guys & gals through ebay, and some sellers have kindly taken the time to explain, but I still have a bit of trouble understanding some of the pricing! (that said, I don't sell on ebay and it's not how I make my money, so I can afford to be a bit judgemental...)

Very cool Don, thanks for your understating.
Did you notice that the BZ chassis is just that, it is not the common Classic mfg. frame.
I did advise Tommy to split this auction. I feel there is more chance to find 6 buyers with $80 ish than one buyer with $500.
But of course he is just fishing and would prefer to make one deal. He can always lower the price if it does not sell at this price.

I sold a junk box of stuff to this seller and had to give him a refund because he thought it was all junk. By the time I was done, I should have just thrown it all away. I would have been dollars ahead. I fix those problems with blocked bidder list and it never happens again.

I was sorry to hear of this issue, I did not know of the problem with that sale when I met Tommy. So now I know both of you.
You are both good guys. Wish I could fix the disagreement and bring peace love and harmony to the world

No problem Martin. This stuff happens, one size doesn't fit all. I have no ongoing problem. One time issue and it's over. Sometimes guys forget to ask mommy if it's ok to buy stuff and when the mail comes and she sees it, they get in trouble and have to ask you to take it back. It's not wise to try and sneak stuff by mommy or wifey!!!!

Mike, I guess your post went in about the same time as mine!!!
There seems to be plenty of auctions to keep this thread going. This morning there is a hard body 2E, looks to be resin or maybe a Japanese model kit on a standard Cox mag frame. It's only $500+, but it comes with a wood block. The Cox part is a $20 chassis.
If these kind of auctions ever sell, it just proves the sellers are smarter about selling slot cars then I am!

I think the body could be made from the old MRC 1/25 kit. I built one many years ago and it is very small compared to the Cox car:

I think you mean IMC NIels, and yes, they're a lot smaller than the Cox! Given as 1/25, as opposed to 1/24 on the Cox.
Just compared my Lancer 2E with the Cox: it's about 1/2" shorter, pretty much the same width and a lot lower!

Looks like it could be the IMC kit and somebody glued it together solid and probably puttied all the seams. Neils is right, if this kind of stuff sells for anything over $70-$100, these sellers are smarter than I am. As always buyer beware and educate yourself, so you can make good choices about where you spend your money.

That thing has been on eBay for weeks at $89.00. It was junk then & a further inflated price doesn't make it any more valuable.

Probably a Jet flag. We used to think that one Jet flag had straighter posts than the others. It might have been the #5s.

I don't think the Jet flag is worth $99. I have a bunch of those old brass cars, in about the same condition. I sure hope they are worth $99 each. Or even $99 for the lot.

I have never seen an RTR with the chassis offset like that. Or the drop arm bent to one side to center the guide flag. Very odd.

Matt,
We were talking about that one over at SlotForum when the auction hit $210 - just saw it's back down to $56! The other crazy bidder must have canceled his bids!
The drop arm was offset too, to compensate... there should be pictures on here somewhere.
Not only that, they did a first asymmetrical chassis in brass and piano wire, but I think only with the Genie, not the other cars in this series, so it probably didn't last long. The aluminum model must have been a lot easier and cheaper to produce.
