Most of the recent winners are still running Parma bodies.  I guess time will tell what transition will take place after current stock pile runs out.

Alan,
Ralph Thorne has the McKee body, and he ships well.

Has there been any thought to allowing manufacturers that dont currently have a ti22 body available to submit one since its looking like Parma wont reopen after Covid?

Kelly Racing Products submitted multiple Can-Am bodys that were just approved including narrow and flat nose TI22's that are close to identical to the old Parma shapes.

Both are the long versions with short versions coming soon.

Also a Parma style Lola Can-Am and a new creation Lola F Can-Am body that I think will be really good with better down force.

All are IRRA approved starting 2/27/21 Check them out on the newly approved body list on Slot Blog.

Getting the bodys should not a problem as Terry has tons of lexan and containers filled with already packaged bodys ready to ship.

Shame on the distributors if they don't have them or say they can't get them.

If you can't get them have your local track message me and I will help them get in touch with Terry directly.

Tony

Its interesting that you brought this up. I went to my home raceway a week ago and ordered 2 of each of the newly approved Can-Am bodies, including 3 types of Kelly bodies. Mark says that he can not get the Kelly bodies from his distributor, nor any of the others. So what am I supposed to do if I want to test these bodies?

Have your track owner call Terry Kelly. If he needs the # please PM me.

He also should complain to his distributor who is not carrying the body's they are forcing some manufactures to sell direct.

Also the Viper Pit in Thomasville Ga. is fully stocked and willing to sell direct.

As always though do everything you can to support your local track!

Tony, your last line is right on. I have stated that several times on Slotblog in the past. After all, if we don't have local raceways, slot car racing is gone.

Ralph Thorne makes excellent bodies  Very well formed, each and every one that I have received.  Really like his McKee retro.

There are a lot of nice CA bodies out there not being used.
There sb theme races where everyone runs the same body (since everyone does anyways).
A race for McLaren bodies, a race for Lola bodies, etc..

out here in scrra land, we could do the ti22 from the bash to ckpt, McLarens from end of ckpt to summer, n Lolas from summer classic to fall, or whatever the ptb see fit (at least on the king).

ISRA has a theme body yearly, can't see why it would not be viable.....

but there must be some no good reason it can't be done --- LOL

Mike,

That would cure nothing, Everyone would just run the best TI-22 part of the year, then the best McLaren for part of the year, and then the best Lola. We would still have races with just one body. The only way you might get differing bodies is to try what they tried in North Cal. If you had someone so concerned about getting a field of different bodies to test spoiler heights to try and make a level playing field for different bodies. I am not to sure how that worked out for the North Cal guys myself.

Regards,

GVP.

not trying to cure anything --- it has been understood that retro has become a one bodies class bc of performance.

like real F1 world, cars look like the redbull or mercedes LOL

just like to see different bodies on the track, even if everyone is "forced" to use the best lola or best mclaren

of course everyone will run the best mclaren, the best lola --- thats ok,,, but we get to run a different body

would be fun to see different CA bodies running, especially those that were famous during the CA era, the ti-22 wasn't that famous back then

when I race HO, bodies had almost no performance factor. but we had series where we ran stock car bodies, gtp bodies, etc

ok most retro racers don't care what the body is, just what is the best performance (we aim to WIN LOL)

scrra rules which ti-22 (lowest DF ti-22 out there and not the best looker either, lol) we run

can't see why not for part of the year we run only mclarens or lolas

when I started retro I think I ran almost every body that was not a ti-22, but succumb to running the ti-22 LOL
