October's D3 Hardbody races at Buena Park Raceway had another lite turnout of racers due to the Coronavirus situation.
8 racers enjoyed another fun day of hardbody racing at BPR. Using every other lane, spacing between racers wearing face masks, provided a much cleaner race as far as fewer crashes and no riders. No side by side racing eliminates "nerfing" and little or no "riders" since there's fewer crashes and half the lanes are not occupied. One drawback however is the race takes twice as long to run.
The Mixed race saw Keith Tanaka win with his new "Gonzo" design pan chassis Trans Am Camaro. Keith recorded 245 laps a new lap total record for the Trans Am class but probably will not be counted since the race only had 4 cars in each heat which means less crashes and more laps. Hector Gonzalez was 2nd with his fast Trans Am Under 2 Liter Corvair and Eddie Shorer 3rd with his fast Can Am Lola T70. The Racer Handicap podium had the same finish.
The GTP race had Jim Lane 1st with his Porsche 962 (255 laps), Hector was 2nd (Porsche 917, 251 laps) and Tim Herrera 3rd (Porsche 962, 247 laps). Michael Kale was 1st for the Racer Handicap podium with James Rogers 2nd and Jim Lane 3rd.
Thanks to Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race directors, Jim Lane and Keith Tanaka

The next D3 Hardbody races at BPR, Sunday, Nov. 15th. BPR opens at 11 am, mixed race at noon followed by the GTP Race.
Also, Novermber has a 5th Sunday, so we'll have two race days in November.
