Stock Cars on the Figure 8 – 10/13/20

 

Stock Cars returned to the Figure 8 in the MVH Tuesday evening retro series on October 13^th. With seven racers we were able to utilize the 4-on/3-off format with two marshals and one person to run the computer.  

 

Stock Cars in Tech:

 

The race for the lead was between John Weaver and Ray Lee while Bob “Woody” Hazelwood, Nate “Spudboy” Bemis and Chris Cassidy battled for the final step on the podium. At the mid-way point of the race and change over to the inside lanes, John was in the lead with a 4-lap advantage over Ray with Woody just 3 laps behind Ray. Chris was trailing by seven laps and just one lap up on Nate. Richard Payne and Rob Hayes closed out the field.

 

Though Weaver held the lead throughout the rest of the race, Ray was able to close the gap to just 3 laps on his way to a 2^nd place finish. Nate came on strong on the inside lanes getting by Chris and to within 3 laps of Woody but had to settle for 4^th place.

 

Weaver had the fastest lap of the evening with a 3.342 on green to Ray’s 3.352 on blue.
