Hey Doc:

I used a JK Ford MkIV at an early Sano race and qualified right near the top with it.  I've tried using it recently at many of the big races but it just isn't quite as good as the badly misshapen Lola GT's and Chevrons.

NSR makes a pretty quick one. They have s-cans that are pretty zippy. They are expensive and hard to get however.

Jay, thanks for the reply. That is the jist of my post. When looking at photos of the GT40 MkIV, It seems to me (having made many RC models for Parma) that this body would be very competitive if designed correctly.

Maybe because a body designed for the Mulsanne Straight isn't as effective for downforce in turns?

I'm wondering why no one is reviving the Alfa Coupe Dynamic released.

Truescale offered a Ford Mk. IV.  I believe it was IRRA approved at some point in time.  I found that it worked great on the Blue King for the R4.  It also really was true to scale as far as vacuum formed bodies go.

Isaac, I have no clue what you are talking about.

He was referring to a 1/32 plastic body car.

Electric Dreams has an approved MkIV body, but I have never seen one. Does anyone have a pic?

Quite a few years ago when we at Chicagoland decided to use retro-style bodies on the JK Millenium chassis we all had left over from the Falcon series, Dave Fiedler used a JK Ford MKIV and did well with it. The body is squished down enough to present a low profile, and trimmed so that the tires just clear the insides of the tops of the fenders, it is as low as the Red Fox Ferrari 330 P3/4. Of course, the guy driving was the guy who could enter a car made of popsickle sticks and win with it.

Shouldn't be too hard to make a badly misshapen MkIV, would it?  Somebody just needs to do it and get it past Noose.  How hard can it be?  :laugh2:  :laugh2:

Scalextric has a 1/32 Mk IV, it even has the H&M rear spoiler, but that's probably not what you were asking about.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

If everything is distorted in pursuit of performance, why bother with prototypes?

I have the talent, but I don't have access to the machinery anymore. Sure wish that I did.
