The new ProTrack 672 1/32 chassis will be legal in all AWRA classes except Legends and Sportsman in 2021.

My first thought is it looks like one of Ernie Layacan's cars. There is a lot more there for tuning, than just adding lead. They should make for building some nice race cars.

Agree with VW. Nothing against the chassis, which looks nice, but why would a racing organization approve a $45 chassis in a class of cars that uses a $15-20 chassis? Unfortunately, it's a pattern that has repeated itself in slot racing since the '60's.

"...but why would a racing organization approve a $45 chassis in a class of cars that uses a $15-20 chassis? An organization that bans most modifications to the inexpensive chassis. I know I'm old Womps used to be a beginner class at most raceways. (yeah I know they were a religion at Circle T).
At the moment it doesn't matter to me because the local tracks race without wearing masks. Now I have to figure out what RC airplane stuff looks like fun this month. I bought Snow ski's for one of my planes.

Is the AWRA still holding races.

The AWRA does not hold races, raceways hold races that conform to AWRA rules.

Please re-read the first post. This chassis is not allowed to be used in the Legends and Sportsman classes which do not allow modified chassis.
IMO the Pro-track chassis allows people without the skill to build a modified chassis access to the classes that race modified chassis. If you do have the skill to build a modified chassis the question is if your time is worth the ~$20-$25 additional cost for the Pro-track?
Personally most anything that will save me time and give comparable results is worth the investment.

Yeah I raced in Vegas once with the AWRA. We use to race in San Diego at VT Raceway. I just don't hear much about those AWRA races being held anywhere. I have some fast cars If someone wants them. Legends and Sportsman cars and I beleive also stock cars to. I will sell all at once. Thanks, Tim

The most recent AWRA sanctioned race was "Grand Prix de Concord" held at the Slot Car Track Concord November 7th 2020.
