Sorry for being late with this. Some new series issues to work out. January 23 we were at Washington Slot Car Club in Cannonsberg PA. The track is a 115ft UK black that held the USRA nats when it was in Mineral Ridge. The track has been completely reworked and is in remarkable condition. Remember this is a "club" so things are a little different than a retail location. Few if any parts are available but most bring enough that is not a problem.
We wanted to start a series and keep things stable so we chose to run 3 classes. USRA JRL, USRA GT12, ISRA A Production. Pretty simply & straightforward. We picked the classes a few years ago but never got the series off the ground. It was great to see the same classes being run at the flat tracks in North Carolina. With the USRA nats at Speedzone & ISRA Worlds in Atlantic City this year we decided before the Flexi Flats to run a 3 race series to get things off the ground and work out some of the related bugs of this budding flat track series.
We have 8 people that committed to running so that left a hole for marshals. So we hired some so we could run a full track & get the racing over in a timely manner. Friday the track was open in the afternoon & we ran until 9PM. Then race day the track was opened at 8 AM. We started racing at 10 AM. Ran 2 classes JRL & A Production, took a break for lunch and finished off with GT12. We were done by 2:15 because we ran with a full track, had few track calls. We were packed up & on the road before 3:00 PM.
We seem to have some other racers interested in joining us so that is a plus. If your looking to race slot cars without sticker motors on a fun flat track with stable rules come check it out. 2 more races February 20th & March 27th.
