Can-Am on the Aristocrat – 12/1/2020

A small field of six took on the American Aristocrat with their Can-Am retro cars this week at MVH. Racing was in the 4/4 format.

John Weaver took an early lead and never looked back. Richard Payne, Chris Luy (from the old Hudson Valley Raceway visiting MA on business) and Tom Stickney were in a 3-way race for the two remaining podium positions. At the mid-point of the race Richard was less than a lap up on Chris while Tom trailed by another lap. Tom Smith and Chris Cassidy completed the field.

After the move to the shorter and faster inside lanes the field stretched out a bit as Weaver opened up his lead to 21 laps when the checkered flag flew. Meanwhile, Richard put some distance between himself and Chris to take 2nd by a comfortable 10 lap margin. Chris also opened a gap to finish in a solid 3rd place, 13 laps up on Tom Stickney.

Weaver’s 4.335 on black was the fastest lap of the night and over 2/10ths better than Richard’s 4.570 on purple.
