I really  like the colors of the vac bodied rtr cars  from 65-67.   While I never saw them in the 60's I can only imagine how a sales counter full of those pretty colors was so tempting  to a  young boy in the mid sixties.    I  finally got these 3  finished up.   The blue Harrison is a repro body from a guy in Oz.

They look great, the wheels are my favorite part on the Testors cars.

As I recall they were pretty quick when compared to the run what ya brung cars of the day. I tweaked one for the track manager that some spoiled brat's father bought for his son in exchange for track time. the kid was able to stay with my three rail per side F1 car fitted with one of my 60T30 RussKitt 23's and flip flop sponge tired car. he was not race hardened so he fell apart in traffic, blamed the car like many of those guys back in the day. he quit slots. The Testors 26D seemed faster than the others in the case.

Jesse, my first scratch built car had a Testors 26.  For 2 months or so, it cleaned up at the little track I raced at.   Handling was ????, but it had enough speed to run away from the 36D's that most guys ran.    It was a good motor and in the narrow  F1 chassis with a nothing body, it was lite and it would have been a top rtr car at that time..

Martin your picture shows the color more accurately than the ones I took.   I'll have to try again.   You want to tell the story of how you got your car?   I was a close second!

I hope it was a good story, cause I do not recall a story. I remember I spent some time on the number decals art, working from poor photo's. Then you did a great job on the printing. They make the car IMO.

I know I was happy to win the body on e-bay. Hard not to step on toes in a blind auction.

I still have a Honda to add to this line up.I know its not your favorite, but I always wanted the F1 Honda.

Martins' body was an Ebay listing.    I think we were the only 2 guys that  noticed it.   I didn't realize it was an rtr car.  I just figured it was a pre-painted body.   I like green so I bid what it was worth to me.  Martin knew what it was and he ended up winning and a couple days later  we both realized we bid on the same auction.   I was happy he got it and I sent him a new frame to build it.   It appeared to be in new condition and must have been removed from the chassis and never raced.      We now talk over the stuff that looks interesting to see who wants it worse.   That way we don't drive up the other guys bid!

Are there any other Testors open wheel cars ( other than the Honda) or is this the four ?

Found the full list in the link below, I see 4 open wheel RTRs

This is a good read for everything Testors.
