I actually had no idea about the armatures when I asked about that. Funny coincidence.

The arm at the top has a list price of $6.95.  I'm assuming 1965 vintage.  Run it through an inflation calculator in 2020 dollars would be $57.42.  Not far off on some custom winds these days.

Very nice!  Are you going to check and see if you recognize who might have done the work?

I got one of them Isaac - they didn't go as high as I thought they would, maybe because they looked used. Still, very happy to have found this. I've gotten 4 or 5 Dyna Rewind motors over the years - and my first one was in 1967, in a La Cucuracha that I bought from Dyna's magazine ad - just 99 cents extra for the kit or RTR with their motor! (it may have been $1.99 - the 99 cents was an introductory offer)

I assume the LASCM already has a bunch of MIB examples...

One of the first things I bought, after starting again in 1992, was a used Dyna Rewind 26D in the box from an antique toy company in Seattle - still doing business, but the name escapes me. Cost about $8, but it proved to be DOA - I put another arm in there and it's still in one of my cars.

Don, good job. He said all were sealed. I think they didn't go high because he put them in the wrong category. I know of a Gasoline Alley Antiques somewhere up there, maybe that is it. The boxed arm's will need cleaned up though as the old foam kills everything. And who knows what the foam will look like after shipping so I think it will have to be cracked open anyway. That is one reason why I wanted the bagged arm. I also think that early Dyna is what made the company so prolific. I also like the Dyna specific gray epoxy.

That's it Isaac, Gasoline Alley. Been dealing with them for the last 25 years, but much less these days. They were there before ebay!

You're right, it may just have been crumbling foam that made them look used - on some of them, I couldn't tell one way or another.

Wrong category usually doesn't matter: I, and I assume many other collectors, usually check all the possibilities, altho these days I'm less systematic about it - and the couple times I've spotted a gem in the wrong place, well, I wasn't the only one! Far from it...

Many years ago, I did find a Monogram 34 Ford in the HO section - but there were still 2 of us bidding!

Actually, at the time, except for that Dyna and a Versitec SS101, I don't think I bought any other commercial rewinds - it was all roll my own, for better or worse...

The store has a lot of good literature but the prices are quite high.

You may be right about categories but I have seen nice Cucs that would usually go for more than $100 go for $50 because they were in weird places.
