Probably just a fairly serious West Suburban slot racer.
If the racer was a Pro, he would most likely have a Russkit style controller, maybe a Kesser double micro.
With the Bloom bodies, it will most likely get bid up fairly high.
The seller, a family owned, long time, real nice area hobby shop, most likely took the box in trade, possibly for some train parts.
About 20 years, I helped one of the owners with a residential move, the connection being, myself a casual friend of his brother, who was not involved in the business.
PS-root beer must of been a popular production color for Bloom. An area guy, and ex-Hinsdale racer has one, the same color.
