Hummm. Fastest generally has little to do with a specific motor or motor manufacturer. It has everything to do with correct preparation. Generally, fastest car is often, but not always, the method to accumulate the most laps in the defined length of a race. Many tracks offer racing programs. These programs usually specify a specific motor or class of motors that may be used in the racing class. This list, by definition, identifies the motors that qualify and are the highest RPM that may be employed. Following the list of approved chassis, body, and motor - when correctly prepared - can produce the fastest car. More to the point, however might be the goal of preparing the most consistently drivable car, sometimes compromising straightaway speed for brakes or handling. Cars are seldom geared for straightaways, more generally geared to balance all aspects of car performance. In this respect, the fastest motor is irrelevant. Fastest car, given all the pre-defined criteria, is often the goal.

But I digress. I have very, very limited experience. Ive only raced cars equipped with motors from Mini Brutes up to and including Group 20. The best racing Ive ever experienced was with the Mini Brute. Still my favorite motor. However Im not sure it was the highest rpm motor. In fact, it may have been the lowest. So confusing.

Earl it is difficult to give you a simple answer with the names you have provided. As someone said what ProSlot motor are you talking about, and what JK?

With the names you gave the Phoenix would be my choice as fastest. The Phoenix is very fast has great brakes. It can be hard to drive if the car and controller are not set up for it. It is also only legal in a few classes usually classes just for the Phoenix motor.

Fast has many meanings. You could mean RPM's but I think you mean best in everyone's opinion.

I don't really know, I like vintage stuff.  :D

The Phoenix is the fastest.

Yes it is by far the "fastest" in pure straightaway speeds.  It's  a motor intended for DRAG RACING!! WAY too much torque for flat track retro racing--and the guys out west that play with them run them in flexi chassis on the King track only!  FWIW

The Phoenix is fast in a wing car and a flexi gtp  car  the mockingbird is supposedly faster but I have no experience. The Phoenix is faster than a proslot fk, proslot  also makes a motor where they put a x12 arm in their fk style can, one motor with ceramic and another with neo’s. I build a retro pro anglewinder and stuck the proslot fk x12 ceramic in it, wow way too much for me. When racing season winds down,I’m going to put that motor is a wing car vs a Phoenix.

i like the jk hawk 6 best of all. i prefer the jk set-up over the pro/slot because it produces more top end. the white endbell can use copper brush hoods & it's not flimsy like the black endbell. the stock armature is pretty fast & can be replaced with a number of faster alternatives. however avoid the american-wound hawk replacement armature; i tried one & it was horrible. the big dog & x12's from pro/slot are great armatures. you can make it into a really fast motor in a small package + better handling.

Hawk 6 is an excellent motor! Using the ceramic magnets the brakes are terrific making for a great drivable motor.
