The first D3 Hardbody race of 2021 was held on Sunday, Jan. 17th at BPR. After the cancelled races in Dec'20 due to Covid, it was fun racing again.
A lite turnout of 8 racers observed Covid rules by wearing a face mask and follow social distancing rules. We had only 4 racers in each heat separated by one lane each.
BPR replaced the flat track power supply with one that provides 13.7 volts (old power supply was 12.7 volts). The one volt higher voltage did result in faster cars and saw the lap totals increased.
We ran just one race (due to taking twice as long to run using only 4 lanes) which was a "Mixed" race.
Keith Tanaka drove his "gonzo" design pan chassis Camaro to victory again followed by a fast Phil Nyland with his Can Am Lola T70 and Hector Gonzalez 3rd with his WRC car. The Racer Handicap podium had the same finish.
Thanks to Jim Watterson (and Eddie) for their support of D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race director, Jim Lane.
