I bought this on ebay for the body that came along with it. Does anybody have any idea who the manufacturer is? Wheel base is 3". Does not appear to be mangled or modified. I wish to give more info about it when I relist it. Thanks in advance.

Monogram, for the set car versions of their Lotus and Ferrari F1 models...  The kits had much fancier brass chassis, with threaded metal wheels and more details on the cars.

Yep, a Monogram F1 1/32 set car.

Rewind that 13D and then it wound go.

The kit Monogram cars were actually really nice. Performed well, were easy to put together, tune and were fairly reliable and powerful. Also look great.

Quick story about that chassis...  10-12 years ago at a vintage race in Italy at Ezio's home in Torino I took a detailed Lotus 33 using that chassis.  The Italians are sticklers for rules, and it was made clear "no chassis modifications".  Well, I showed up with that and it caused a bit of a stir.  I then told the guys that I had no intention of actually running it that way, but I did want them to watch me snip off the rear peg and that it was an okay modification.  Funny thing is that with the rear peg I could not actually run the car at any kind of speed as the rear lifted right out of the slot and took the front with it!  Only after snipping the peg could I actually race the car as it needed that bit of rear-end slide and kick-out to run.  It was a surprise to me!

Yes, I believe the same gray plastic with no chrome as I have a couple that way.  Can't now, but I will at some point dig out my good set and confirm.
