Howard passed today, writer for Car Model magazine. Great person, great personality, and humor. One of the first HO slot car collectors and historians. Also a VW collector.

Very sad to hear that. I remember his column from Car Model, and still re-read those regularly. He was indeed one of the first to have an HO column, and seemed to be a very knowledgeable guy.

Here's Howard's short obituary:

 

Arther Howard Kilgore, 85, of Mission, KS, passed away January 28, 2021. Howard was born February 18, 1935, in Harrison, AR, to Mae and Hebron Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Randall Kilgore. Howard leaves behind his wife Susan, daughter Diana (John) Arnold, granddaughter Samantha (Brian) White, great grandson Beckett White and many friends.
