Just did a recent build of a tribute to the 554 fuel coupe.

I had the body painted for a little while & after seeing Rick's Kemtron Ram arm build & another friends build of a Kemtron Bronco with a 3v ram 222 arm I decided to put a 6v Ram sature into a Kemtron Mustang I had lying around.

Chassis rails have been scratch built out of 1/16 K&s aluminium stock s had been epoxied.

Rear tires & gear are modern stuff running on a 3/32 scale everything else (except guide) is scratch built or vintage.

Tom, how critical to a drag car is the location of the guide flag in relation to the car's front axle?  I notice this car's is well behind the front axle. That would be something one wouldn't want to see in a road racing slot car, but in a drag car is the car's weight distribution more important? You can tell, I'm not a slot car drag racer.  :)

I did build am area I could mount them but I think I will get away with some nose weight.

Bill the guide position is not as much of an issue as on a circuit car I put the front tires out there to try & get some more weight over the nose.

When the front end came down after a perfectly bitchin' wheelie, the front end actually bounced  :D  :good:

Why mess with that? It didn't even de-slot. Judges at The Wolcott Ranch give it a solid "10" performance

I got some runs out of this car now & got it down into the mid 1.5s it still might need a bit more gear & I might add wheelie bars.

Thanks Pablo I should get it a little faster.

Comparing this with a KTM 4 v motor I had in a similar weight car I think the 4 v comes out on top the Kemtron with ram 6v might have a bit more torque & will be capable of close times & a lot more reliable.
