Roy Hogan Memorial Race March 20th 2021

Flexi Race to remember our slot brother who left us far too soon.

 

Track open at 11:00 AM

First Race Flexi GTP 2:00pm
Second Race Wide Indy Open
Third Race JK LMP Box Stock

Optional Fourth Race JK Box Stock Narrow Indy

Race Fees $14 with $4 donated to Samaritans Purse in Roy’s Memory

Races will be in the standard 2 minute on 2 minute off format. Depending on participation we may have sit-outs or run two races per class.

I have not talked to Clyde but I am pretty sure If you wanted to add to the donation to Samaritans Purse the raceway would accept it and add it to the donation in Roy's name.

Just a reminder! The First Annual Roy Hogan Memorial Slotcar Race is this Saturday March 20 at Atlanta Slotcar Raceway in Marietta Georgia.

 

There will be some very cool prizes for the top 3 in each class !

He loved Bud Light Lime & peanut butter

I would get a call the day after a race 

His voice beaming that he had won 

Always bragging about beating the young guys 

And explain every detail of the fun 

 

He would talk about his buddies 

And what race was coming next 

Then work all week preparing 

And loading up his chest 

 

He really loved the holidays 

You’d get to hear his jokes 

He loved NASCAR & slot cars 

And always watched Gunsmoke 

 

He was Roy Boy, Dad 

Paw Paw and Pop 

He’d go to the boys ballgames 

And take the girls to shop 

 

He loved to do yard work 

Was proud of his family 

He was amazing working with wood 

And loved his Country

When it comes to his life 

WE were the winners in the end.

Roy was a good friend and always willing to help new or seasoned racers, his attitude on racing was when the flag drops the bullshit stops😁 Roy loved a good race and hanging out with the guys at our track. The lights are a little dimmer and the laughter a little quieter since he left us. God Bless you Roy thank you for being my friend.

Saturday March 20 we race in Roys memory please come and honor his life with us at Atlanta Slotcar Raceway in Marietta Georgia, racing what Roy loved to race, Flexi, Box stock LMP and Jk Wide body indy open . There will br some awesome awards for the winners of this First Annual Roy Hogan Memorial Race .

Ok guys A lot of folks liked the idea of a box decal to honor Roy and the race so i contracted Ralph Thorne to design some and the pic is it. I asked him to wrap it in Roys favorite color of Orange. I will only have a limited number of them. The cost to make them was 1.00 each im not selling them but if you want to donate any amount then that will be added to the money donated in Roys name to his favorite charity. Just hit me up at race, see you tomorrow!

It was a great day of racing! Roy would have been happy! Racers were very generous with donations. Thanks to everyone who came out to honor Roy and to those that chose not to because of the covid but loved Roy and wished they could be there. Maybe more will be able to attend the second annual Roy Hogan race next year!
