May be cool as a class in its own, Im sure there is some tweaking possibilities with that speed control and tuning etc. You just feed the track full power and use an RC controller to run the thing.

This does not look particularly heavy

That would be interesting, being able to stand anywhere around the track instead of being stuck at a crowded control panel.

Airtonics, Futaba controllers and motors that never wears out, laptop tuning of speed controller.
Second channel for active air control?

If that is a sensor less brushless motor I have the switch to make it work off of track power with a slot car controller. Wonder what it weighs?

2 pole motor is typically limited to 160k rpm, 4 pole 80k,6 pole 60k, 8 pole 40k ect.
That brushless outrunner motor is likely between 6 and 14 poles

Their reply;
"It looks like an outer rotor brushless motor. I doubt that it would work well at all. It wouldnt be able to run at very slow speeds, when you let off there will be a delay before it will respond (because it is sensorless and needs to go through a starting routine each time you let off of the controller completely, also being outer rotor it will not start or stop very fast due to the high inertia.
I think it would be slow, also not very smooth."

Once it's moving the starting procedure will not occur again until you stop.

Here is a fully functional brushless road course car. With this setup you use the standard resistor controller. No R/C controller, no hot track and the braking system works.
How much does this car weigh?

Um, so every track call or time some idiot falls off in front it would need to restart. That would be pretty often for some classes.

Do RC cars, planes, quads, etc. suffer from these issues? I don't know but I can't imagine that they do.

the car (my one ) weighs less than my 1/24 eurosport (4 grams ) its as fast speed wise ,but have only run it on full rc gear ,i need one of your switches to run it as i want with a normal hand controller . to run it as it is now will need a fair bit of esc setup its very twitchy ,will need soft start and brakes will need backing off as it stops dead ,all stuff a normal hand controller can handle ,and the startup bleeping evertime it stops is infuriating

Any lap time comparison?
Assuming you don't have any video, could explain start up "bleeping", in more detail, for us not familiar with these motors?

havnt been on here for a few years ,website should get going again soon
motor is sunnysky 1106 8000kv motor ,20 amp micro esc and frsky micro reciver
will post when ive got something better going
guessing it will be somewhere between open 12 and eurosport speed
i think the handling may loose out as the motor is not spinning as fast as a brushed slot motor thats running 8-1 gearing

if power is cut the motor has to go through a procedure to start again ,its sort of a safety feature to help not getting your fingers chopped off by the propellers, with bags system this doesnt happen only put this together to see if the motor would be fast enough.
