In honor of our good friend and slot car racing legend, John Cukras, we have added his name to the second big race of the 2021 SCRRA schedule and we didn't think Pete would mind!  It will now be called the John Cukras/Pete Zimmerman "Festival of Speed" and will be held at Piranha Speedway next month on the 23, 24, and 25.

As well as the name change we have made a couple race schedule changes as well. We've added a Flat track race and moved the Can-Am race to Sunday.

On Friday, 4/23, RetroPro will take place on the King track with tech starting at about 6 PM.

Saturday, 4/24, will open with Retro Anglewinder Coupe on the Flat track with tech at 9:30 AM. About one hour after the end of the Coupe race, F1 will begin on the King track.

Sunday, 4/25, will feature the premier race of the weekend, Can-Am on the King track with tech at 10 AM and NO hand-out motors.

I'm pretty sure masks and social distancing will still be the order of the day next month and any updates will be posted here immediately.

Piranha has confirmed that the track will open at 8 AM on both Saturday and Sunday.   :)

Many thanks to Piranha Speedway and Joe Gallagher for coming up with a couple of large wall banners for the upcoming Cukras/ Zimmerman race in two weeks. Awesome!  :good:

Another great time at the festival of speed. Must say, Bryan and Mill showed us their steadfast driving skills by patiently pacing to the podium but Tim Woods had an epic run in the premier event. Way to go!!!

Looking forward to the Summer Western Classic. Thank you, everybody.

It was nice getting out and racing again, even with my rusty finger (and brain). Those are a couple of tricky tracks to drive well, but they are very good. Rich is doing an excellent job of providing a clean, well-stocked facility, and doing a fine job of race directing. Thanks to Bryan, Jim, Sam, Marco, Rick, Tim, and Mill who lent a hand when I needed two. It takes a village! Always good to see the out-of-towners. Gotta add to it: Tim Woods did great! Looking forward to more Retro racing.
