Hi Philippe,
I wish to acknowledge the supreme effort that took so many years, in putting together the plethora of knowledge you have into a book.
For me, words cannot convey how much I value and appreciate the time it took to achieve this monumental task, so I will simply say - "Thank you, Philippe!" in the hopes you can sense the gratitude.
I do hope you'll have an opportunity to sign my copy - please.
Excitedly awaiting my copy of your book!!!
Thank you.

Kim follow the link to the Electric Dreams page and just watch the screen. After a few seconds the image at the top will change every few seconds; one of the images is a link to the book.

I must say the quality of the photos is outstanding and no doubt this will be the last word on the classic era of slot cars.
This is a great bargain for any slot collector. Cheaper than a lot of slot cars and rovides hours of enjoyment.

I managed to assemble the huge amount of extra text from the website and put it two Word documents - one for the extra picture texts and one for the memories of the racers - both amounted to nearly 70 A4 pages - each when compressed to 10 point font and minimum area around the text top/bottom and sides!!!

Received my book these days and immediately rebuilt my very first competition slotcar of 1969 - a Monza chassis with a Dynamic Abarth body.
Thanks, Philippe, a true masterpiece in addition with Niels' "100 extra pages" good stuff for long cold winter evenings.
For more information look HERE.

Also got mine today - very impressive, both pictures and the wealth of information. :-)
I managed to assemble the huge amount of extra text from the website and put it two Word documents - one for the extra picture texts and one for the memories of the racers - both amounted to nearly 70 A4 pages - each when compressed to 10 point font and minimum area around the text top/bottom and sides!!!
As mentioned above, I have assembled and printed all the extra materials. Even if I compressed the pages to point 10 font and almost no margins I ended up with a huge document !! I then made a print, placing to pages on each sheet and printing on both sides on the paper. Then I was not ruined by the paper costs ;-) but still had a lot of pages. I then invested in some cheap - maybe too cheap :-( - A4 plastic pockets in which I am now placing the printed pages.)
In this was I think I will have a manageable binder as a companion to the "bible." :-)

Niels,
Well done!
But soon, each of these pages will get larger as new information and comments will be posted... the web pages are... dynamic, just like the slot car parts of the same name...

So I ordered the hardcover version of the book last week and I'm now eagerly awaiting its arrival. Unfortunately shipping to Canada isn't free. I ended up having to spend an extra US $44.75 for shipping and with the US$ at Cdn $1.26835 right now my wallet took quite a hit.
Nonetheless I expect I'll be fully pleased with the book since I've always wanted to see a comprehensive summary of the slot cars that were released back in the 1960s and I know that Philippe put an incredible amount of effort into dredging up precisely that information.

My confidence level is high!
In any event I'm eyeing a few vintage slot car kits right now and I suspect I'll soon be without the spare cash to spend on any contracts.

So I ordered and paid for the book on January 27th. It was mailed by Electric Dreams on February 2nd. It arrived at Toronto International Airport on the morning of Saturday February 12th. It was delivered to my door by Canada Post today February 14th at noon.
At first glance it looks magnificent! I'll comment at more length in a few days.

Philippe's book still delights me each and every time I flip it open. The write-ups and pictures continue to stoke my enthusiasm for the slot car kits from the 1960's.
So while I extend my heartfelt thanks to Philippe for his effort in bringing the book to print, my wallet is a lot less enthusiastic.

Sorry Vay, if you knew how much it cost to produce and print, you would think that Electric Dreams gifted it to you...

I have no problems with the price of the book itself. The "problems" have come through the book introducing me to more slot car model kits than I can always immediately afford (let alone find). The book to me is like a candy store. I mean it's always "Oh yeah, cool! That's another kit I should get!"
