Stock Cars took to the American Royal this week at MVH. Six racers ran with three drivers on-track and 3 marshals, one of whom controlled the remote track-call button.
Stock Cars in Tech:
John Weaver jumped out to an early lead and was still there by the move to the inside lanes. Bob “Woody” Hazelwood and Dave Panich were running several laps back but only one lap apart in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Peter Lentros was having some issues with his guide flag shorting out against his chassis which kept him six laps behind the podium contenders but he was still nine laps ahead of his closest pursuer, Dan Savage. Richard Payne was running a couple of laps behind Dan to close out the field.
The move to the inside lanes didn’t mix things up much, as Weaver drove to the win with an 11-lap buffer. Woody stretched his hold on second place as Dave struggled on both black and purple. Peter’s car came alive (after some adjustments by Weaver) but he couldn’t close the gap to Dave. The only second half change saw Richard get past Dan to move up to 5th.
Fast lap of the evening went to Weaver with a 4.171 in green.
