Well, the weather outside was unseasonably cool and breezy, but the racing inside Palouse (WA) Slots and Hobbies was hot.  A record turnout of 12 racers showed up for some quality racing, coming from north (Spokane), northwest (Chelan), southwest (Tri-Cities) and east (Moscow, ID).  In all, there were 44 entries in the 4 classes, and racing was relaxed but close.

Rick Dodge was the most decorated racer of our number, and took top place in three of the four events, prevented from a sweep by his Chelan-area sidekick Garrett.  The race also saw the racing debut of owner Leroy's grandson Bradyn.  Despite his tender young age of about 10, Bradyn bested three adults in his first race and finished firmly in the center of the pack in only his second race.  I predict a bright racing future for that racer.

As usual, we alternated races on the red and blue tracks, with the first race on Ken's old (blue) track.  Rick Dodge would be the runaway winner on both races on the red track, but would have a battle on the blue, winning by 1 and finishing second by 3.

By the way, I need last names for Garrett, Bradyn, and the "other" Paul (not Dwyer).  If someone can give me those, I will update the results accordingly.

Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of the underside of the stock cars and formula cars.  Stock cars follow SoCal rules, allowing anglewinders and lower clearance (than IRRA) while sticking with the 3" width.

Coupes also allow anglewinders and you can see the diversity, although most choose the anglewinder versions.  You will also notice the wide variety of styles, including some with SoCal influence.

Can Ams round out a really colorful lineup of cars.

What body is the orange and purple #7 Can-Am in on the bottom in the second row?

Good looking bunch of cars.

Eddie:

The body you're questioning is an Abarth of some sort, it is perfectly legal under the D3/SCRRA rules that they race under.

Thanks for the info Tom.

I had no intention of saying it was not legal as raced.

Thank you Ken for the great job with the race results and pics.  Here are the name updates Garrett Sisk, Bradyn Arndt, Paul has a last name that is a mile long that I won't be able to spell correctly so we will go with Paul Q. Also putting out the word for a head count for Saturday June 26th retro race. Hope to everyone again for some fast competitive racing.
