I remember Tom Thumb East being on north Hamilton Road in Columbus. They could have moved by the time this race happened.
I also remember trying to keep my MPC Dyn-O-Can Charger in the slot on the Sovereign for one lap. I don't think I did. Luckily, Mom and Dad were there to put me back on!
What publication was this in, Issac?
I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

This is in Model Car and Racing. My personal favorite even though it only lasted less than 2 years.

This was my first out of town race, my dad drove me down from Cleveland Ohio. This was on the purple sovereign right. The owners picture the two guys left front row are Denny Butcher from Brooklyn raceway and Ken McDowel from Parma Raceway. I have no memory of racing but I do remeber the first lap of practice, I thought the lap would never end. I remeber blowing up both of the motors I owned. So maybe 8 didn’t actually race. I loved watching Pete Zimmerman wind arms in the back of a van in the parking lot. And then John trying them out and blowing them up.

For the Columbus Arco race Bob Emott, Chris Vitucci and Phil Rubin drove all night after the Friday night 1st NY Car Model race to arrive just as tech was over. The racers voted to let them run. No practice just throw the cars on the track and qualify.
Thinking qualifying was timed laps like it was in NY, and because they missed the drivers meeting they ran their one minute runs trying for the best laps coming off several times. As it wound up both Bob and Chris still did enough laps to make the Main with Bob turning the fastest lap in qualifying.
